About the journal

The International Journal of Business Innovation & Management (IJBIM) publishes rigorous research on how firms of every size create, adopt and scale new products, processes and business models. The journal serves management scholars, doctoral researchers, policy analysts and practitioners who want evidence that travels across industries and regions. It gives particular attention to small and medium-sized enterprises, family firms and organizations in emerging economies, whose innovation pathways are often underrepresented in the mainstream management literature.

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers, and editors weigh theoretical contribution, methodological transparency and practical relevance equally. IJBIM welcomes quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods studies as well as replications and carefully argued perspectives. Articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, so they can be read, shared and reused freely. Accepted papers appear online as soon as they are ready and are then compiled into quarterly issues.

Aims and scope

IJBIM aims to advance understanding of how organizations generate and capture value from innovation under conditions of technological change, resource constraints and sustainability pressures. The journal seeks studies that build or test theory with credible data, that compare contexts rather than assume one, and that state clearly what managers, entrepreneurs and policymakers can do differently as a result. It encourages work that links firm-level strategy to people, operations and institutions, and it values contributions from researchers based in Asia, Africa and Latin America alongside established research communities.
